Adidas has long been synonymous with the German national team. After 73 years, including four FIFA World Cup titles and three European Championships, this iconic partnership between Germany’s premier sporting brand and one of football’s most successful national teams is set to end.
To commemorate the historic seven-decade relationship, Adidas is planning a “farewell” collection ahead of the German Football Association’s (DFB) controversial switch to American sportswear brand Nike.
The collection is rumored to feature a striking black third kit.
Although the kit is still a concept, its design could easily be remembered as one of Germany’s best-ever kits. The combination of deep black with crisp white accents, along with the subtle inclusion of the German flag on the collar and sleeves, creates a visually stunning look. The only caveat is that, by the time of release, Adidas may need to incorporate a fifth star to reflect Germany’s World Cup tally.
