Kylian Mbappé Declares Himself Fit for World Cup, Knee Injury Healed

As the highly anticipated World Cup approaches, French superstar Kylian Mbappé has announced that his troublesome left knee, which caused him significant discomfort in recent weeks, is now fully healed. The Real Madrid forward is back with his France teammates as they prepare for a series of friendly matches in the United States this week.

Overcoming Frustration and Anxiety

In a recent promotional event, Mbappé opened up about the emotional challenges he faced during his recovery. "There was a lot of frustration, a lot of anger, and then also some anxiety at one point," he revealed to French media late Monday. The young talent admitted he reached a point where he was uncertain of the nature of his injury. "I didn’t go through that period in the best way. I wasn’t the happiest player in the world. But I’m happy now because it’s truly behind me. It’s all gone." Prior to his injury, Mbappé had been in excellent form, but a knee sprain sustained at the end of last year forced him to adapt. After playing consistently in January, he found himself sidelined for three and a half weeks before making his return to play.

Mbappé emphasized the importance of being cautious during his recovery process. "I wanted to be very cautious so as not to come back too quickly and risk a relapse or pick up another injury elsewhere," he explained. While he wasn't worried about re-injuring his knee, he was concerned about potential injuries in other areas due to the layoff. "After four or five weeks without playing, you have to get all the other muscles going again. That’s why I took my time."

Addressing Misleading Rumors

During his absence from the pitch, Mbappé faced a barrage of "baseless" rumors concerning his condition. He expressed frustration over the misinformation that circulated, stating, "A lot of people gave a diagnosis, even though until not very long ago I didn’t have one myself." He noted that the speculation included false claims about surgery and doubts about his participation in the upcoming World Cup. "From that point on, it was easy to say that everything being said was wrong. I heard a lot of things — surgery, that I might not play again, that I wouldn’t be able to play in the World Cup. It was all completely baseless."

Despite the challenges, Mbappé praised his team for maintaining strong performances in his absence. Real Madrid currently holds second place in La Liga and is gearing up for a crucial Champions League quarterfinal match against Bayern Munich next month.

Looking Ahead to International Friendlies

As the international break approaches, Mbappé expressed his eagerness to represent France and contribute to the team's preparations for the World Cup, which will take place this summer across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. He has already made a significant impact for Les Bleus, scoring a hat trick in the thrilling 2022 World Cup final against Argentina and becoming only the second teenager after Pelé to score in a World Cup final in 2018.

France's upcoming friendlies include a match against Brazil on Thursday in Foxborough and another against Colombia on March 29 in Landover. As Mbappé gears up for these critical matches, he remains focused on helping his national team achieve success on the world stage.
