Liverpool have already secured the signing of French defender Jeremy Jacquet ahead of the summer window, but there is still plenty of business for Arne Slot and his squad to complete in the upcoming transfer period.
Alongside the need to recruit another centre-back, several other positions require attention, while contract discussions are also ongoing with key players. Depending on the outcome of those talks, further signings could be needed to strengthen the squad.
During the winter window, Liverpool attempted to arrange a late loan move for Lutsharel Geertruida. However, the deal was never straightforward and ultimately failed, largely due to his situation at Sunderland while being owned by RB Leipzig.
Another name connected with Liverpool at the time was Roland Sallai, the Galatasaray winger who is also capable of playing at right-back. His father has now suggested that a potential transfer could take place in the summer instead.
Tibor Sallai believes his son is likely to move at the end of the season, even though the 28-year-old does not fully match Liverpool’s usual age profile for long-term targets.
“Liverpool could be one possible destination, and I wouldn’t be surprised if a move happened now or in the next window,” Tibor Sallai told Blikk.

“I know that initial contact has already taken place through an agency. I don’t want to make bold claims, but my son will have a strong chance in the summer if an offer arrives that is also good for Galatasaray, allowing him to change country and level.
“It would be something special if Liverpool were to line up at Anfield with three Hungarian players in their starting XI.”
The Reds already have Sallai’s international teammates Dominik Szoboszlai and Milos Kerkez in their squad. Szoboszlai has occasionally featured at right-back, though Jeremie Frimpong is expected to return from injury soon.
Szoboszlai was instrumental in the late winning goal scored by Alexis Mac Allister last weekend away at Nottingham Forest.
“You can see how confident he is right now and how well he’s performed this season, because in what felt like the final second of the match, he stayed calm,” Slot said.
“Actually, there was still another minute to play, but it felt like the very last moment. Everyone expected the ball to be crossed straight in, yet he waited and waited before delivering it.
“Credit to Virgil van Dijk as well for switching the angle of attack towards the far post. And it was no surprise to me that Macca was our goalscorer again, because he showed the mentality needed in these games and found himself in the right position twice.
“The first half was very poor, probably our worst so far, but the second half was much better. We controlled the match more and created chances earlier on. Even when we struggled in the first half, we didn’t concede much and defended strongly in our own box.”
