Canadian international forward Jordyn Huitema has made a high-profile move in the NWSL, joining the Chicago Stars in a trade that highlights both her talent and the club’s ambitions. The 24-year-old striker, known for her scoring ability and international experience, signed a three-year contract with Chicago after being acquired from Seattle Reign FC in a deal involving allocation money and a transfer fee.

The Chicago Stars secured Huitema in exchange for $200,000 USD in allocation money and a $300,000 transfer fee, signaling their intent to strengthen their attacking lineup. Chicago general manager Richard Feuz praised the forward, stating that Huitema stood out as the ideal fit after months of scouting and discussions with the coaching staff.
“She brings valuable experience in the NWSL and internationally, including winning the 2022 NWSL Shield and competing in playoff matches,” Feuz said. “Her presence adds a key dimension to the group we’re building here.”

Huitema’s Professional Journey and International Credentials
Originally from Chilliwack, B.C., Huitema began her professional career in France with Paris Saint-Germain, where she made 45 appearances over three seasons from 2019 to 2021. She then joined Seattle Reign in 2022, accumulating 70 regular-season appearances, including 58 starts, and contributing 10 goals and four assists.
Internationally, Huitema has earned 96 caps for Canada, scoring 23 goals and recording seven assists. Her experience with the national team has made her a proven performer on the global stage, bringing leadership and composure to any squad she joins.
