Juventus Make Bid to Sign Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi

Juventus have reportedly tabled an offer to sign Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi on a free transfer this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian giants are looking to strengthen their defence, particularly on the left side, after underwhelming performances from Federico Gatti and Lloyd Kelly. Senesi, whose contract with Bournemouth expires in June, has emerged as a prime target to provide coach Luciano Spalletti with more defensive options.

Strengthening the Bianconeri Defence

Juventus have struggled to find stability at the back, and Senesi’s arrival could address a key weakness. The Argentine centre-back has been one of the most dependable defenders in the Premier League, contributing to seven clean sheets this season and creating six big chances in 26 appearances. His consistency and ability to read the game make him a natural partner for Gleison Bremer in Juventus’ central defence, giving the Old Lady a more reliable backbone as they aim to challenge for the Scudetto.

Competition for Senesi Intensifies

Although Juventus have made their proposal, Senesi is expected to attract interest from several top European clubs. Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Aston Villa, and Chelsea are all reportedly monitoring the 28-year-old, meaning Juventus could face a competitive race for his signature. The Argentine will have the freedom to choose his next destination this summer, giving him significant leverage in negotiations.

Juventus’ Broader Transfer Needs

While adding Senesi would bolster the defence, Juventus have multiple areas that require attention. Former Italy international Antonio Cassano suggested the club may need up to ten new signings to fully compete for the title. Beyond a new centre-back, Juventus need creativity in midfield, attacking support for rising talent Kenan Yildiz, ball-progressing full-backs—especially on the right flank—and a more consistent centre-forward, with current options like Jonathan David, Lois Openda, and Dusan Vlahovic failing to meet expectations. Summer signings will be critical if Spalletti is to build a squad capable of reclaiming the Scudetto.
