Michael Carrick’s Manchester United continued their strong run of form with a narrow 1-0 victory over Everton at Hill Dickson Stadium.
The result extended United’s unbeaten sequence to six matches under caretaker boss Carrick, and to 10 games in all competitions.
However, the win was anything but comfortable. Everton showed real determination and forced United to battle for every opportunity.
Everton put up a fight

The Toffees created several dangerous moments, with United goalkeeper Senne Lammens emerging as the standout performer. The Belgian made a series of vital saves, ensuring United stayed level while Everton pushed forward with intent.
In the end, it took a single moment of quality in the 71st minute to decide the contest.
Cunha sent a long pass into the path of Bryan Mbeumo. The Cameroonian brought the ball under control before laying it off for Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko, charging into the box, fired a powerful strike beyond Jordan Pickford and into the bottom corner.
That clinical counter-attack proved enough to secure all three points for United.
Branthwaite reacts
After the match, Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, speaking to Liverpool Echo, shared his honest view on how the game slipped away:
“I felt that over the full 90 minutes, we were the stronger side.
“A momentary loss of focus on the counterattack probably cost us, and once again at home we’ve failed to take any points, which is frustrating.”

Branthwaite’s verdict highlights the fine margins of the match — one mistake, one break, and one decisive finish were enough to change the outcome.
For United, the victory keeps their momentum going, but supporters will be hoping for more convincing performances. They want wins that demonstrate control rather than survival.
With Champions League qualification now within reach, fans are expecting a powerful push toward the end of the 2025–26 season.
